Description
The soft foam cervical collar is a medical device used to support a person's neck in the event of a cervical fracture. The cervical collar is also used by emergency personnel to treat chronic medical conditions, such as whiplash. Whenever a person has a traumatic head or neck injury, they are at high risk for spinal cord injury. To prevent further injury, the person may have a cervical collar placed by medical professionals until X-rays can be taken to determine if a cervical spine fracture exists.
